Application Deadlines

 

For international students and local students not covered by JUPAS, applications usually open from mid to late October. For more details, visit the website of the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA). The application deadlines are divided into the following two categories for admission in 2024:

 

- Early Application: November 16, 2023

- Regular Application: January 4, 2024

 

Promising applicants can expect to be contacted for an interview (via Zoom) after receiving confirmation of their application. Early applicants who do not hear from CUHK by December 31 should assume that their application will be considered along with the regular application group.

 

Eligibility

 

The Chinese Studies program admits students through the following schemes with respective admission requirements through the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA).

 

- International students

- Local students from JUPAS (JUPAS code: JS4136)

- Local students not covered by JUPAS

 

Students who have taken the Gaokao or those who have taken the Gaokao previously are not eligible for this program.

 

Non-local students (international) refer to those who possess or will need:

 

- Student visa/entry permit

- Visa under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates

- Dependent visa, aged 18 or above before September 1 of the year they are admitted to relevant higher education programs in Hong Kong issued by the Director of Immigration
