Call for Shaanxi Provincial Scholarship, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology

 

General Information

 

Authorized by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, the Chinese Language Training Center for Foreigners (CLTCF) at Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) was established in March 2008 to educate foreign students in Chinese. CLTCF has educated students from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Japan, the United States, Germany, Russia, and Ghana since its establishment. CLTCF has 3 administrators, 8 full-time teachers, and 7 guest teachers, including 3 associate professors and 5 professors. Five teachers have been appointed to teach Chinese in the U.S., the U.K., and Nepal, respectively, for one year by the Hanban/Confucius Institute headquarters. Chinese language teaching at CLTCF focuses on literacy and articulation for foreign students. In addition to basic Chinese grammar, listening, speaking, reading, and writing curricula, there are optional courses related to Chinese history and culture, introducing Tai Chi, calligraphy, music, and Kung Fu, which are attractive to foreign students. CLTCF places great importance on the HSK exam and provides intensive exam training. In addition to this, students can participate in a wide variety of activities designed according to their cultural backgrounds and personal preferences, such as sports events, short trips, or field studies, to understand Chinese culture and better use the Chinese language. Duration Period: September 22, 2023 - July 22, 2024 (10 months)

 

Program Description:

 

- Chinese reading comprehension courses, Chinese listening and speaking courses, Taiji, Chinese calligraphy, painting, visits to cultural sites

- Opportunities to visit different sites in the city of Xi'an

- Traditional Chinese arts

 

The scholarship includes:

 

- Monthly stipend (1000 yuan per month, total of 10 months)

- Accommodation in our university dormitory in a double room

- Payment of the Chinese language program for 1 academic year

 

Not included

 

- Airfare

- Visa and passport costs

 

Requirements:

 

- Costa Rican citizen.

- Ages: 18 - 26 years (inclusive), and must be students who have enrolled in the Confucius Institute at the University of Costa Rica in at least 2 Chinese courses.

- HSK 2 certificate.

- For regular UCR students, in case of not having the HSK certification, they can present the enrollment report with the approval of the Intensive Chinese 2 course from the School of Modern Languages ​​taught at the Rodrigo Facio, Pacific, or Occidente campuses.

- Provide a certificate of English language proficiency.

- Minimum academic degree, bachelor's degree.

- No criminal record.

- An online interview will be conducted.

This scholarship is personal and non-transferable. Acceptance of the scholarship automatically accepts all its conditions.
