Project for the recovery of the historical memory of Chinese immigrants in Costa Rica (PREMEHCHI)

PREMEHCHI's main aim is to collect, classify and analyze all the existing material in the country that has to do with the immigration of Chinese in Costa Rica from the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century, to reconstruct gaps in the histories, make visible the group's contributions to Costa Rican society and create a database for future research. This is a project carried out by researchers from the Université de Bordeaux (UB) and the multidisciplinary research team for studies on the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America of the Université de Bordeaux Montaigne (UBM), the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and the Distance National University for Education at a Distance (UNED).
